The Amitāyurdhyāna Sūtra is a Mahayana sutra in Pure Land Buddhism, a branch of Mahāyāna Buddhism. It is one of the three principle Pure Land sutras along with the Infinite Life Sutra and the Amitabha Sutra. Amitāyus is another name for the Buddha Amitābha, the preeminent figure in. Some jeweled trees have silver roots, aquamarine trunks, crystal branches, coral twigs, emerald leaves, conch shell flowers, and purple-tinged gold fruits. People toil painfully to amityus their desires, and they take advantage of one another. Nothing is harder than this. As people admire virtue and appreciate kindness, they will learn to be courteous and to yield to one another.
He always reverently offered the four necessities to all Buddhas. He will immediately attain to the fruition of Arhatship, gain the threefold knowledge and the six supernatural faculties, and complete the eightfold emancipation. The ripples merge and separate, vanishing peacefully, neither too slow nor too fast. Shakyamuni smiles, emitting light from his mouth, and goes on to tell Vaidehi how to be reborn in the Pure Land.
Unable to alter their poverty and hardship, they resort to thievery and vagrancy, and live on what is not earned.

And again, Exalted One, from what cause and circumstances have you such an affinity by blood and religion with Devadatta Buddha’s wicked cousin and once his disciple? If there is any one who commits evil deeds, and even completes the ten wicked actions, the five deadly sins and the like; that man, being himself stupid and guilty of many crimes, deserves to fall into a miserable path of existence and suffer endless pains during many kalpas. As their names spread everywhere, their virtuous ways prevail in the ten directions.
Love, desire, rank, and wealth are impossible to preserve. They emit wondrous Dharma tones as breezes gently stir. If those who are in extreme suffering, taking any of the three evil life-journeys, see this radiance, they can rest, no more pain or distress. He revered the Three Jewels and served his teachers and elders.
As a Buddha, He walks the Buddha steps and roars the Buddha roar.
The king showed in his expression that he was happy and contented when he had an opportunity of hearing the Dharma as well as of enjoying the honey and flour. Wherever the Buddha visits, in countries or settlements, no one will fail to be transformed. He will, while dying, see a golden lotus-flower like the disk of the sun appearing before his eyes; in a moment he will be born in the World of Highest Happiness.
Because in that Buddha Land, there is neither the group that definitely is not on the bodhi path nor the group that is indecisive about its paths. The vajra mountain range, Sumeru the king of mountains, and other large and small mountains all became the same color. This kind of punishment takes place in their present life. All their evils are noted by gods.
Amitayus Long Life Sutra – Noble Silence
He was accomplished in endurance, never disheartened by myriad tribulations. There, one would be confined for amitaus in a palace made of the seven treasures, undergoing tribulations.
At the time of his death, when the fires of hell approach him from all sides, he will meet a amiitayus and learned sutfa who will, out of great compassion, preach the power and virtue of the ten faculties of Amitayus and fully explain the supernatural powers and brilliant rays of that Buddha; and will further praise moral virtue, meditation, wisdom, emancipation, and the thorough knowledge that follows emancipation.
How can one not strive for merit, and not think of bodhi, which transcends the boundless limit, beyond the distinction between high and low?
The Buddha enters towns to beg for food and receives offerings in abundance. The bowls vanish when the meal is over, and reappear in due time. Revealing Himself as a fortune fieldHe enables the almsgivers to accumulate merit acquired from their planting.
How much more, then, will the meditating upon all the complete bodily signs of that Buddha! They cannot help failing to attain bodhi. No one fails to rejoice and open his mind wide. When one amitsyus on them, the foot sinks down four inches. These natural offerings continue endlessly.
How much more will the remembrance of that Buddha and the Bodhisattvas! How much more, then, will the diligent contemplation of him! It is impossible, king, to prevent them coming. Stupid and ignorant, they think that they are wise.
The beds of aquamarine ponds are covered with crystal dust. Amirayus wish will fail to come true. Fully equipped with ways to help sentient beings compassionately, amitxyus manifest themselves everywhere in innumerable Buddha Lands, never acting arrogant or domineering. In black, yellow, red, and purple, the colorful light is striking, radiant, and splendid, outshining the sun and the moon.
They are soft and lustrous, with a strong perfume. These are the first enormous evil, the first pain, and the first burn. What other delight can they possibly desire?
Today the Eye of the World carries on as the guiding teacher. The radiance of their wisdom surpasses that of the sun and the moon, as they master the pure ways.
